Periodista, escritor y fotógrafo. Nacido en Figueres (Girona, España) y licenciando en Historia por la Universidad de Barcelona (1981), inició su trayectoria profesional como periodista en la revista catalana Canigó (1978-1983), en la que dirigió la sección de Internacional. Comenzó a colaborar con el diario El Periódico a finales de 1982. Posteriormente, fue responsable de la sección de Economía de El Periódico durante diez años en Barcelona y Madrid. Desde finales de 1995 y durante casi dos décadas ha sido corresponsal de Asuntos Europeos y de la OTAN en Bruselas (Bélgica). En 2003 obtuvo el Premio de Periodismo Europeo Salvador de Maradiaga. En el 2014 fue galardonado con el Premio Ernest Udina a la Trayectoria Europeísta. Ha publicado la colección de relatos "Noches y días" y la novela histórica de aventuras "Una mujer legendaria" y es también uno de los autores de los libros colectivos de política internacional "Irak en clave global" y "Europa 20146. El Futuro de un Sueño".

Biographical data

Journalist, writer and photographer. Born in Figueres (Girona, Spain), he had a Licentiate degree in History from the University of Barcelona (1981). He began his career as a journalist in the Catalan magazine Canigó (1978-1983), where he led the Foreign Affairs desk. He began collaborating with the Spanish newspaper El Periódico in late 1982 and fully incorporated in the newspaper the following year. Subsequently, he was responsible for the Economy desk of the newspaper for ten years in Barcelona and Madrid. Since late 1995 and during almost two decades has been the newspaper's European and NATO Correspondent in Brussels (Belgium). In 2003 he won the Prize of European Journalism Salvador de Maradiaga. In 2014 he received the Prize Ernest Undina of European Trayectory. He has published the short stories of "Nights and days" and the historical novel "A legendary woman" and he is also one of the authors of the Foreing Affairs books "Iraq in global perspective" and "Europe 2046. The Future of a Dream" (all n Spanish).
